I visited my girl this past weekend down in Atlanta for some last minute wedding business. It was great to finally see her, it seems like it goes by way too fast! But then again, it's crazy to think how in only 3 weeks we will be married!
So, the inevitable happened, and I had to fly back to Jersey. So I got to the airport way too early, sat waiting for about an hour, and then finally boarded. I was trying to be smart when I checked in, so I switched my seat to the very last row, on the aisle, so that I could be right by the restroom. So anyway, the plane was pretty full and the two seats to my left were still empty. It was looking good. Then, right before push-back, a woman boarded and headed my way. And it would not have been so bad if she did not have her little baby girl with her. When I say baby, I mean a baby that cannot even speak yet, let alone control anything else if you know what I mean. So she sits next to me and then as we are taxing to take-off she precedes to change the kids diaper! WOW, how bad did that smell?! I had to hold my breath. This is an hour and forty-five minute flight, so you can only imagine the thoughts running through my mind. This diaper adventure took place twice. A lot of other things happened on this flight, and I wish that I could explain it all here, but this is getting long. It took all I had to stay patient in this situation.
God has truly been putting me to the test. It's so hard at times to be faithful. Every time that I go through some sort of struggle I always look at the story of Job. It is always amazing to see how Job reacted to all that was thrown upon him. He lost everything, and I mean EVERYTHING! Still, Job never cursed God and always worshiped Him. Praise God I have that to look to when I get frustrated, annoyed, or just plain tired.
A pastor on staff with me said this great quote the other day, "We can get tired in the ministry, but we should NEVER get tired of the ministry." There are times when I myself get tired, but I still love what I do. I would not trade that for anything!
