Narcissism

As defined by wikipedia, narcissism describes the character trait of self love, based on self-image or ego. I feel that many pastors and worship leaders struggle with this at times. We see results such as high attendance, people getting "saved", or raising their hands in worship and feel good about ourselves. We attribute these outward actions as being a result of something that 'WE" did, then begin to feel good about ourselves. "Narcissists constantly assess their appearance, desires, feelings, and abilities." This dimension of narcissism that I am addressing focuses on the aspect of abilities. We need to take a step back and realize that God is the one who gifted us with the abilities to speak or lead in the first place. It all goes back to Him. We are just lucky that he chooses to use these empty vessels.

Your right on Chase about the ego thing. More pastors need to be aware of that danger and that they have that problem.
